The Jaguar F-Type Convertible is fitted with a 2.0-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder engine that serves up 296 horsepower, while the
Porsche Boxster's base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is rated at 300
horsepower. Despite delivering slightly less horsepower, the Jaguar provides 15
more pound-feet of torque than its rival.
Also, the Jaguar F-Type comes standard with an eight-speed automatic
transmission for faster acceleration and better fuel economy. The Porsche
Boxster only has a seven-speed automatic transmission. To improve handling and
traction around corners and on wet and slippery surfaces, the Jaguar offers
all-wheel drive as an option. All-wheel drive is not available for the Porsche.
