Regardless of which model you choose, the 2019 Porsche Cayman features a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Its base 2.0-liter four-cylinder is rated at 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while its most powerful engine, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, produces 365 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.
The 2019 Jaguar F-Type, on the other hand, offers a turbocharged four-cylinder, two supercharged V-6 options, and two supercharged V-8 options. The base four-cylinder delivers 4 less horsepower but 15 more pound-feet of torque than the Cayman's standard engine. When equipped with its most powerful engine, the F-Type cranks out a whopping 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
In addition, the Jaguar F-Type comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which improves its acceleration and fuel efficiency. The Porsche Cayman uses a seven-speed automatic transmission. You may also get better handling and traction if you opt for the Jaguar because it has an optional all-wheel-drive system. All-wheel drive is unavailable in the Porsche.
If you live in an urban area, you'll appreciate the F-Type's excellent maneuverability. Its turning circle is 1 foot smaller than that of the Cayman's, making it easier to drive in tight quarters. Also, this sports car features a drift-compensation steering system to help you keep it straight in road conditions that result in side-to-side drifting. The Porsche does not have this feature.
Measurements
The 2019 Jaguar F-Type may also deliver a smoother and more stable ride than the 2019 Porsche Cayman because of its longer wheelbase and wider average track. Its wheelbase is 5.8 inches longer, and its average track is 3.1 inches wider than its rival's.
Luxury & Convenience
Both the 2019 Jaguar F-Type and 2019 Porsche Cayman are fitted with a wide range of comfort and convenience features. However, the Jaguar has a number of thoughtful features that you will not find in the Porsche. For instance, it makes winter driving more comfortable with its standard remote starting system. This feature allows you to turn on the engine and climate control system from inside your home so that the vehicle will be properly warmed up before you step out into the cold.
While the Cayman has an optional memory driver seat, the F-Type comes standard with memory settings for both the driver and front-passenger seats. It automatically adjusts the driver seat, steering wheel, and angles of the outside mirrors, as well as the front passenger seat, to suit the preferences of different drivers and passengers.
